My experience with 'autoinstall' is that it does not install dependencies, so my autoinstalled scenes are broken, unless i manually install them. So i don't bother with clicking in that but instead only use favorites.

Atleast it does for me.
so i updated vam to the latest version and now when i open a scene (even a blank one) i get this message:
i can still open scenes, but opening up some assets causes it it crash.
not the normal crash where i run out of memory from opening up too many scenes or a heavy scenes
for instance, i tried adding a person atom to blank scene and it crashed it. and loading the mmd plugin (not the timeline one) causes it to crash to when before i updated it it worked perfectly.
also i tried installing var browser and while it does work, it doesn't "stick". every time i open vam it like its running for the first time, taking double the amount of time to load. without, its 5 mins and with, its close to 10. and nothing ends up in the AllPackages folder. it was the same before i updated.

Autoinstall only applies to the Var you check it for, while its dependencies will only get installed when you load the scene through Var browser.
When you originally toggle Autoinstall, it installs the scene/look/etc and the dependencies, but after you click "uninstall all" you will need to load the scene through Varbrowser again.
If you want to ensure a scene is autoinstalled, you need to make sure to toggle Autoinstall for all its dependencies as well.
Try clearing your cache. or move the contents of the folder to somewhere else. EDIT: also possible that could be a few chinese vars not loading properly, check this comment for more info.
For Varbrowser, you need to manually move your vars to "Allpackages". Alternatively, you could rename Addonpackages to Allpackages and make a new Addonpackages folder.

Like the other guy said and i said, you have to manually open it via the manager again for it to actually install the dependencies. It will not install them when you clean your installation, which is the only reason for wanting it to auto-install in the first place, so it is a completely useless and wrong functionality since it wrongly gives you an impression that a var and it's dependencies are installed since it is coloured as such.

Another feature I really enjoyed was using VD Synchronous Spacewarp. It makes everything looks a lot more fluid. I use it along Snapdragon Super Resolution (SSR). SSR is cool because it uses the Quest 2's GPU to make image quality better. And it processes the image after encoding, which is nice because encoding always makes the image worse.5900x, 1080ti and 32gb of ram +50GB pagefile on the D: drive (M2) to absolutely make sure
Iam also using process lasso ontop of the cpu fix.
Idk if that makes sense, but it definitely helps on my end.

its working fine. You can update. If you have problems, the updater can also rollback the update.
If I remember correctly, the new update fixed a possibility of a var calling a external link and doing harmful thing to your pc/game.I doubt my Pico 3 link can pull this off

Using var browser for months and my temperatures never exceeding 65°C on the GPU and 70°C on the CPU while in VR.
Tarkov hit's harder than this.

its small, its just a security patch.how big is the update? I have slow internet.
My works fine. Check vam logs after the crash. You can find the location they are on google.

do that and when it stop working, finish with task manager. Than you go to the logs see what was the app doing before the crash

Just a reminder that the cpu performance patch won't work with 1.22.0.7. Something to consider if you rely on it.
